The New Start Recovery Solutions Alumni Program helps our patients to stay connected with us and our supportive community – and to maintain sobriety.
Lifelong relationships often begin in drug and alcohol treatment.

We are proud to provide world-class care with a friendly, California approach. This makes the Recovery Happens outpatient programs unlike any others in the Bay Area and Northern California.
The goals of our Outpatient Programs are to establish sobriety and psychosocial supports, coping strategies and facilitate relapse prevention.

Alumni Program Support for Life-long Recovery
At New Start Recovery Solutions – our goal for patients is life-long recovery from alcohol abuse or drug addiction.
Our Alumni Program helps our patients to stay connected with us and our community.
Lifelong relationships often begin in drug and alcohol treatment. Connecting our patients with friends made in treatment – and with mentors – is one of the main goals of the New Start Recovery Solutions Alumni Program.
After addiction recovery treatment is completed, sobriety is a new way of living. An important part of recovery is ongoing support, personal growth – and learning new habits and behaviors. Interaction and companionship with those on the same journey is encouraging, uplifting and necessary.
Connecting, sharing with and interacting with others on the same recovery path is supportive – especially during early recovery. The New Start Recovery Solutions Alumni Program for those who have completed residential or outpatient addiction treatment at one of our locations provides a vital aftercare network for patients in early recovery. And the ongoing support and information given is ideal for those with long-term sobriety.

Alumni Support App
Patients who have successfully completed one of our addiction treatment programs have access to our Alumni App 24/7. The Alumni Program supports our patients in maintaining sobriety after addiction treatment. Creating and establishing new habits and a sober lifestyle is challenging in the beginning. When dealing with habitual behaviors and experiencing relapse triggers – it is critical to have a strong support system.
Being able to interact with individuals who are positive influences and motivating is extremely powerful. After successfully completing addiction treatment, our patients become a part of the New Start Recovery Solutions Alumni community for life. We are dedicated to helping patients thrive and succeed in maintaining sobriety.
Alumni Community Ambassador Program
Our Alumni Community Ambassador Program consists of individuals who are in recovery – and who have successfully completed a New Start Recovery Solutions addiction treatment program.
Maintaining sobriety can be an ongoing challenge once back in everyday activities. Our Alumni Community Ambassador program gives additional supportive transition for those in early recovery. Alumni Community Ambassadors are volunteers who have completed addiction treatment at New Start Recovery Solutions.
Requirements for Ambassadors:
- In recovery for 6 or more continuous months
- An active member of our recovery community
- Willing to be available for an initial phone call with those participating in the Alumni Program
- Willing to meet in person and provide additional recovery support to Alumni Program participants
- Maintain strict confidentiality
Monthly Alumni Events
New Start Recovery Solutions monthly Alumni Events are a fun way to socialize in a sober environment.
We know that it is extremely important to stay busy, connected and actively practice relapse prevention techniques. Staying engaged and connected with other individuals in recovery keeps patients accountable. And being a part of a positive recovery community helps build strong motivation to meet sober living goals.

Fun and Laughter: Alumni Program Effective Tools for Recovery
Our monthly alumni events are a fun way to socialize in a sober environment.
Laughing has been shown to reduce the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline. And laughter increases the body’s uptake of the feel-good endorphins.
Laughter is a physical expression of humor and joy that has numerous protective qualities. Having fun with laughter is one of the best ways to manage perceptions of stress and to develop resilience.
Improving resilience and psychological sturdiness strongly correlates with happiness. Happiness and humor can improve brain function-there is evidence of increased connectivity within the brain in response to laughter.
